One of my most memorable sightings in CT lasted less than 5 seconds but it is one I will never forget. Growing up on a creek in western New York State, I always hoped to see a mink. From time to time I would see a footprint in the mud but never the animal. I would spend countless hours in and around the water seeing ducks, muskrats, beaver, but never a mink.

One early summer evening we were sitting down for supper and I just happened to see something move out side. I looked up thinking it would be a grey squirrel but no, it was a dark brown colored mink. It loped around an apple tree and onto the stone wall and was gone. It happened so fast. I was so excited I had to call my Dad in NY. For me it doesn't get any better than that.
